On the day of her death, Day 0, the Queen's private secretary will inform the Prime Minister. The royal house becomes one, publish official notice to let the public know. A memorial service is planned for the same day at St. Paul's Cathedral in London.

Day 1: After the death of the Queen: The heir to the throne will be announced at 10 a.m. at St James's Palace in London by the "Accession Council". Council for the accession to the throne officially proclaimed King.

Day 2: The Queen's coffin will return to Buckingham Palace and will likely be laid out in the Throne Room. Further action will be taken if she is not in London at the time of her death.

Day 3: The new monarch will accept the offer of condolence and start a tour of Great Britain in the afternoon. This begins with a visit to the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and a service at St Giles Cathedral.

Day 4: The monarch arrives in Northern Ireland, where he will receive condolences and attend a service in Belfast.

Day 5: The coffin is taken in procession from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster, where a service is held upon arrival.

Day 6: It is already being practiced for the state funeral. It is the first of three days that the coffin will be laid out at the Palace of Westminster and open to the public 23 hours a day.

Day 7: The new monarch travels to Wales. He receives condolences in the Welsh Parliament and attends a service in Cardiff.

Day 6 to 9: Preparations for the state funeral are in full swing. The arrival of heads of state and prominent guests from abroad must be arranged. There will also be many tourists arriving, which could cause traffic problems. The security measures are enormous because of the crowds and because of the potential threat of terrorism.

Day 10: It's the day of the funeral, which becomes a public holiday. The state funeral itself takes place in Westminster Abbey. After a service at St George's Chapel in Windsor, the Queen will be buried in the castle's King George VI Memorial Chapel.
